IIT’s Rice Campus hosted the Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science (TEAMS), an annual competition for middle and high school students designed to help them discover their potential for engineering, on Friday, March 1.
Using science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and 21st century learning skills, students work collaboratively to problem solve real-world engineering challenges. The TEAMS competition is based on annual theme. The theme for 2013 is “Engineering A Secure Cyberspace.”
More than 170 high school juniors and seniors with strong math and science skills converged on IIT Rice Campus for the TEAMS competition. An additional 180 are expected at the TEAMS competition at IIT Main Campus on Friday, March 8.
A special thanks to all of the IIT employees and student volunteers who helped make the event possible.
