Last week, the Illinois Tech Women’s Volleyball team was selected to participate in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships for the first time in school history, qualifying as the 10-team tournament’s sixth seed. The Scarlet Hawks will be heading to Virginia Beach, Va., on Wednesday, November 9 for the three-day tournament, which will take place from Thursday, November 10 through Saturday, November 12.
Below is information on all aspects on this week’s events on the Atlantic.
Pool Play Matches (All matches at Virginia Beach Field House Court #2)
Thursday, November 10
11:30 a.m. – #10 NHTI vs. #6 Illinois Tech
2:15 p.m. – #6 Illinois Tech vs. #2 Florida College
Friday, November 11
9 a.m. – #6 Illinois Tech vs. #3 Alfred State
Noon – #7 Carlow vs. #6 Illinois Tech
The top four teams from both Pool A and Pool B will qualify for the bracket portion of the Tournament, which will take place on both Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12. The bracket breaks down as follows.
Bracket Play (Matches will be on either Court #1 or #2 at Virginia Beach Field House)
Friday, November 11
3 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. – USCAA National Championships Quarterfinals
Saturday, November 12
9 a.m. or 11 a.m. – USCAA National Championships Semifinals
1 p.m. – USCAA National Championships Third Place Game
3 p.m. – USCAA National Championship Match
Live statistics and live streaming will be available for all matches, with live audio included for the Semifinal and National Championship matches. Standard-definition streams will be free of charge, while high-definition streams will cost $6.95 per event.
Site Information, Ticketing and Parking
All tournament matches will be played at the Virginia Beach Fieldhouse, located at 2020 Landstown Centre Way in Virginia Beach, Va. Parking will be available free of charge. Admission cost will be $10 per day for spectators, with $22 week-long passes available both onsite and at http://uscaa.ticketleap.com.
