Illinois Tech’s new School Certifying Official (SCO), Lauren Gallagher, will serve as the primary point of contact for veteran students processing benefits. Lauren is located in the Office of Financial Aid and will serve to assist students with benefit questions and processing, review any other forms of aid, and connect veteran students to other campus resources.

If you are a student who would like to begin using your VA benefits at Illinois Tech, you can email Lauren to get started (contact below). Please include a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility along with your campus-wide ID number, and confirm which semester you’d like to start using your benefits. After that, your enrollment will be certified before classes begin for the applicable semester. Students looking to process benefits for the first time in Fall 2020 are encouraged to email Lauren by Monday, Aug. 10, 2020.

If you have processed VA benefits at Illinois Tech before, you will be automatically certified for each semester you enroll unless notified otherwise. If your remaining benefits are running low and you want to preserve your eligibility, just email Lauren directly so your enrollment certification can be skipped for that semester.
