The American Red Cross, through a generous grant from State Farm Insurance, has entered into a partnership program with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) to inspire and motivate a new and diverse generation of Red Cross volunteers and leaders who will support and continue the mission of the Red Cross to save lives by assuring a safe and adequate blood supply for the hospitals and patients served in their communities.
Psychology undergraduate and Scarlet Hawks volleyball player Kate Kendall was selected to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity because of her strong leadership skills and her commitment to the NAIA’s core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
The Red Cross thanked State Farm Insurance for its generous support of the Red Cross/NAIA Collegiate Leadership Program and the NAIA for its commitment to the program and for being a true partner in helping engage young adults to give back to their communities. The Red Cross also acknowledged Illinois Institute of Technology for its support hosting Kate Kendall’s American Red Cross blood drives on campus.
