Together with former colleague Ming Zhong (now at University of Houston) and James Greene (Clarkson), Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics Trevor Leslie is co-organizing a week-long program at IMSI over Illinois Tech Spring Break, (March 17-21, 2025) titled “Emergent Behavior in Complex Systems of Interacting Agents.”
Anyone who interested is invited to register and attend the workshop, and you’re encouraged to further advertise the event within your network. You can register for the event on the conference website.
This is an interdisciplinary workshop and brings together experts in mathematical analysis, data science, and control theory, who study collective phenomena.
Students with research in collective behavior or related fields are encouraged to present their work during a poster session, provided that we receive a sufficient number of submissions to run the session. The deadline to register to present a poster is February 16.
The program of 23 speakers includes two previous colloquium speakers, Fei Lu (Johns Hopkins) and Niall Mangan (Northwestern), as well as several other familiar faces.
The program will include a celebration of Eitan Tadmor’s 70th birthday. Eitan is a Distinguished Professor at the University of Maryland, a giant in the field of collective behavior, and an internationally recognized leader in the PDE community. Eitan will be the keynote speaker at the workshop.
The schedule of the workshop will be determined in the coming weeks.
Please reach out to Dr. Leslie at tleslie@iit.edu if you have any questions.
