Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
After careful consideration, the Commencement Committee has made the difficult decision to host our 152nd Commencement ceremony virtually, on Saturday, May 15, 2021.
While last year’s virtual event proved that we were able to deliver a meaningful experience remotely, we understand that many of you—in particular our graduating students—may be disappointed by this. However, please rest assured that the committee is hard at work planning engaging ways for students and their families to make this year’s ceremony as memorable as possible for our graduating students.
Since the university did not charge the graduation fee in the fall 2020 semester or the spring/summer 2021 semesters, graduates who would still like to purchase caps, gowns, tassels, or diploma frames are invited to do so at our upcoming virtual Graduate Salute. More information on the virtual Graduate Salute will be forthcoming. Spring 2021 graduates will receive their digital and physical diplomas after the ceremony. Additional details will be sent soon regarding an electronic diploma, as well as a mailing request form in order to receive a physical diploma from the Office of the Registrar.
We will continue to provide further details on additional virtual Commencement celebrations as they become available. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to prioritize the well-being of our students and their families.
Thank you,
Alan W. Cramb
