Staff Volunteers Needed for Commencement
March 19, 2024Illinois Tech’s 155th Commencement will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Credit Union 1 Arena, located at 525 South Racine Avenue in Chicago. In order to successfully transition our current students into alumni, we need staff volunteers for the May 11 College Ceremonies from 7 a.m.–6 p.m. -
Faculty: RSVP for the 2024 Commencement Ceremony
March 5, 2024Faculty, please RSVP for Commencement and to reserve your regalia no later than Friday, March 29, 2024. Your response is requested even if you own your own regalia or do not plan to attend. -
You’re Invited to Register for the 2024 Commencement Ceremony
February 6, 2024To all students who are eligible to graduate in fall 2023, spring 2024, or summer 2024 (undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D.): we invite you to complete your Commencement Ceremony Response Form for our 2023-24 Illinois Tech Commencement Ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, May 11, at Credit Union 1 Arena. We ask that you please complete this form by February 29, 2024. Any students who complete the form after the deadline will not be guaranteed guest tickets at the ceremony. -
Apply to be the 2023–2024 Student Commencement Speaker
January 4, 2024If you're interested in addressing your graduating class at our upcoming commencement ceremony, you're encouraged to apply to be student commencement speaker. Please fill out an application, along with a copy of your resume and a draft of the speech you would like to present, by Friday, March 8, 2024. -
Nominate Recipients of Honorary Degree, Who Will Speak at Commencement, by December 15, 2023
December 7, 2023The Office of the Provost is now accepting nominations for the recipients of honorary degrees that will be presented at Commencement in May 2024. The recipients will speak at the Commencement ceremonies. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, December 15, 2023. -
Faculty, RSVP for Commencement, to Be Held May 13 at McCormick Place
March 16, 2023In a shift from past practices for Commencement, the 2022-2023 Main Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 9 a.m. at McCormick Place, Hall B. College Ceremonies will follow the Main Ceremony and also will take place in McCormick Place, Hall B. This year there will be two combined College Ceremonies where degrees will be conferred for three of the university’s colleges. Ph.D. hooding also will take place during the College Ceremonies, with faculty advisers having the usual opportunity to hood their graduates. -
Deadline Approaching to Complete Commencement Ceremony Response Form
February 14, 2023A final reminder to all students who are eligible to graduate in fall 2022, spring 2023, or summer 2023 (undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D.): Friday, February 17, 2023, is the last day to submit your Ceremony Response Form for our 2022–23 Illinois Tech Commencement Ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, May 13, at McCormick Place Convention Center. -
Apply to be the 2022–2023 Student Commencement Speaker
January 5, 2023Students who are graduating this year are encouraged to apply to speak at Commencement. To be considered, please submit a copy of your resume and a draft of the speech you would like to present to Jackie McGhee in the Dean of Students Office at jmcghee@iit.edu by Friday, March 17, 2023. -
Submit Your Nominations for Commencement Speaker, Who Will Receive Honorary Degree, by December 2
November 22, 2022The Office of the Provost is now accepting nominations for the recipient of an honorary degree that will be presented at Commencement in May 2023. The recipient will also speak at the Commencement ceremony.
