Provost’s Award for Online Teaching

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Illinois Tech faculty are continually innovating and adapting their methods of instruction while staying true to the university’s mission to provide the very best education to our students. In an effort to recognize our instructors who have gone above and beyond to engage students online, the Office of the Provost and the Center for Learning Innovation (CLI) are once again sponsoring the student-nominated, university-wide Provost’s Award for Online Teaching. All instructors who have taught or who are teaching an online or hybrid course (with a focus on the online portion of the course) in the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters are eligible.

All students are encouraged to nominate an instructor whose courses delivered an excellent online experience. Online nominations are open now, and will remain open until Thursday, March 31. A small panel of faculty and CLI staff will review the submitted nominations and select the final recipients. The recipient will be announced during the week of April 15, and will receive a $500 cash award. The student who nominates the winner will receive a $50 gift card. Should more than one student nominate the winner, a student will be randomly selected from among those who submitted the winning nominations.

CLI will highlight select nominees on its website so that their work can be used as a resource for best practices. For any questions, please reach out to CLI at cli@iit.edu.

Sincerely,

Peter Kilpatrick
