TIAA, one of Illinois Tech’s 403(b) Retirement Plan vendors, has announced several Financial Essentials webinars running from July 13 through 25, 2023. Sessions are listed below, are open to all retirement plan participants regardless of the vendor with which they invest, and are available for on-demand viewing for 30 days following the live broadcasts. - Invest for success: 5 principles you need to know. July 18 at 2 p.m.
- Write your next chapter: 5 steps to setting your retirement. July 20 at noon.
- Take control of your financial life: 5 steps to managing money and debt. July 25 at 11 a.m.
Additionally, Fidelity, another one of IIT’s 403(b) retirement plan vendors, is offering a variety of workshops throughout the month of July 2023. Workshops are web-based, but live, and vary in length from 30 to 60 minutes. Workshop topics include:
- Create a Budget and Build Emergency Savings
- Investing for Beginners
- Navigating Market Volatility
- Prepare for the Reality of Healthcare in Retirement
- Learn the Basics of When and How to Claim Social Security

Fidelity’s workshops are available to all Illinois Tech benefits eligible faculty and staff, regardless of which vendor you use for your retirement plan investing. Registration for Fidelity workshops does require that you register for an account with Fidelity under IIT’s retirement plan.
