James SkidmoreThe Department of Food Science and Nutrition presents its fall 2023 seminar series featuring guest speaker James Skidmore, senior account manager of food ingredients for JRS Fiber For Life, who will give a presentation on “The Technical Path to Sales in the Food Industry.” This seminar is open to the public and will take place in the Robert S. Pritzker Science Center, Room 152, from 12:45–1:45 p.m. on Thursday, October 26.

Seminar Details

After 34 years in the food industry, I will be sharing experiences from my career path that started on a technical path and has finished in ingredient sales. There are many aspects of the technical career that I now miss in sales, but the knowledge I gained has benefited my credibility as a sales manager and improved my selling ability.

Bio

James Skidmore is a senior account manager of food ingredients for JRS Fiber For Life with years of experience in quality assurance, product development, operation support, R&D management, technical support, and ingredient sales. Skidmore received his bachelor’s in biology and his master’s in grain science from Kansas State University.
