The Clinical Nutrition Research Center at Illinois Institute of Technology is holding a research study to determine if an extract made from grape seeds might help control blood pressure.
What is required?
- Screening and pre-study visit at the clinical nutrition research center (about 1.5 hours)
- TWO Study Days at the CNRC at Galvin Tower: 2 full-day visits
- TWO Pick Up visits
- Blood samples will be collected at each visit
- Evaluate the flexibility of your blood vessels using ultrasound
- Consume the grapeseed supplement for 42 days and wear 24-hour blood pressure cuff before each 4-hour study day
- Compensation is $535 and includes transportation
Who is eligible?
- 28–70 years of age
- Elevated Blood Pressure 120-140 (systolic) mmHg and <90 mmHg (diastolic)
- Blood glucose 100–125 mg/dL
- Weight at least 110 pounds
- BMI no greater than 35
