ECE Research Seminar Series by Lily Weng: “Towards Trustworthy AI: Automated Interpretability, Adversarial Robustness, and AI Safety”

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering will continue its Seminar Series on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 12:45–1:45 p.m. via Zoom, featuring guest speaker Lily Weng, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute at UC San Diego. The talk will be titled “Towards Trustworthy AI: Automated Interpretability, Adversarial Robustness, and AI Safety.”

Dr. Weng will talk about how deep learning models have become remarkably powerful—but often operate as black boxes. In this talk, she will share how my lab is making these systems more transparent, reliable, and trustworthy.
