“Accidental Collaboration: David Boder, Marvin Camras, and the Wire Recorder at Illinois Tech, 1939-1950” is now on display at Galvin Library. University Archives and Special Collections (UASC) presents the story of an accidental but remarkable collaboration between psychology professor David Boder and engineering graduate Marvin Camras based around the wire recorder. Come learn about the surprising impact of this innovative audio recording device, pioneered by Camras in the 1930s-1940s at Illinois Tech and used by Boder to conduct a series of interviews with Holocaust survivors in 1946. Several prototypes and models of the wire recorder are displayed alongside UASC collection material about David Boder to illustrate this uniquely Illinois Tech story. The exhibit runs through Wednesday, December 30, 2015.
