Bunton has 17 years of experience as an administrator of community-based programs for underserved populations that include the homeless, mentally ill, chemically dependent, and people living with HIV/AIDS. In 2012, she co-led an HIV/AIDS awareness campaign with the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. Her efforts earned her a Golden Trumpet Award for outstanding achievement in community relations and the prestigious Edwin J. Shaughnessy Quality of Life Award.
