All F1 and J1 students must be enrolled full time to maintain their immigration status:

• Graduate Students: 9 Hours
• RA/TA approved through the Graduate College: 6 hours
• Kent Law and Undergraduate Students: 12 Hours

There are instances when international students may be enrolled with less than full time hours with approval from the International Center. Full details of each of these allowed reasons are explained on the Less Than Full Time Enrollment eligibility form. Forms require the signature of the student’s advisor or the department coordinator prior to approval by the International Center.
