Alternative Spring Break Seeking Staff Advisor

Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is seeking an Illinois Tech staff member to serve as an advisor for the 2017–18 academic year. ASB is a student-led organization striving to serve others and raise awareness for the homeless. This is done by volunteering at food pantries, clothing drives, and with Habitat for Humanity. During fall and spring break ASB travels nationwide, partnering with Habitat, to provide services for those in need. The work done is mostly construction and home-improvement related, but no prior experience is needed. Out of pocket expenses are minimal since travel and housing are covered.

Our group consists of driven, motivated, and caring students who believe in selfless service. The organization would love to have an Illinois Tech staff member on board to help guide the students to achieve and share this valuable experience. The staff advisor position will require an individual to attend weekly meetings and to travel during all of spring break. The primary duty is to assist the student exec board with trip planning and conflict management if needed. The group usually ranges from 10-25 students and possibly at least one other staff member.

If you are interested in becoming a staff advisor for the team, please fill out this application by Sunday, August 6.
