IIT College of Architecture graduate student Penelope Phylactopoulos received a special mention in the 2013 Schiff Foundation Fellowship for Architecture competition. Each year, IIT, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago nominate a select group of students to submit projects developed in advanced design studios. Phylactopoulos, who was mentored by Professor John Ronan, entitled her project “Silence Retreat.” Only two awards were given this year, first place and the special mention.
