President of the IIT Chicagoland Alumni Chapter Steve Nargang (ME ‘96) recently took Armour College of Engineering students for individual 20-minute flights in a two-seater aircraft. Eight students met Nargang at the Aurora Municipal Airport on two separate occasions to experience flying in a personal airplane and even had the opportunity to take over the controls. Sunny Patel (AE, 5th year) met Nargang at an event during the Global Alumni Gathering last Fall and was able to work with him to arrange the trip. Nargang rented the plane and donated his time to allow these students to gain this fun experience. Nargang is planning on taking a few more students flying this summer.
