Hamza Sekkak, doctoral student in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering (CAEE), was recently awarded the Structural Engineers Foundation Max Zar Scholarship. Sekkak is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Mehdi Modares, associate professor in the CAEE department. His research is focused on reliable fatigue analysis of structural and mechanical systems using interval uncertainty. Named after Illinois Tech CAEE alum Max Zar, the scholarship is awarded to outstanding students pursuing structural engineering degrees in the state of Illinois. For more information, click here.
