Professor Emeritus of Materials Engineering John Kallend recently became the first and only person in the world to hold official world records in wingsuit flying and formation skydiving.
On July 25, Kallend was a member of a 111-person group that set the Hall Spence 111-Way Sequential World Record for skydiving. A sequential skydive is one where two or more different formations are built during the same jump. The record-setting team completed three formations during their free fall.
During his last record-breaking jump in October 2015, Kallend was a member of a 61-person team that set the record for largest wingsuit formation.
