Samuel Anderson and Fuyu Lin, representatives from the Lin-Anderson Foundation, presented John Shen, Grainger Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Armour College of Engineering, with a check for $50,000 to expand research and education activities in the area of power electronics and semiconductor devices.

Anderson, Lin, and Shen connected as a result of Shen’s research work in the field of Energy Conversion related to Power Semiconductors. The three also worked at Motorola together for a period earlier in their careers. Anderson established the Lin-Anderson (LAP) Foundation in 2015 to “fund contributions to institutions involved in science and technology research that enables education in energy savings and environmental progress.” The gift will support research initiatives at Armour College of Engineering ensuring students and faculty are on the cutting edge in their fields.
