Armour College of Engineering Special Lecture: Dean Jaime Bonilla Ríos

Armour College of Engineering welcomes Dean Jaime Bonilla Ríos from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico to the IIT Main Campus on Thursday, April 24, from 11 am – noon in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC) Auditorium. You are invited to attend a lecture by Dean Bonilla Ríos titled, The Challenge of Achieving a Vision of the University. In his lecture, he will discuss how crucial it is to regard the University Vision as a social contract. Successfully accomplishing this requires not just involvement, but the commitment of the whole university body. The way this has been accomplished at Tecnológico de Monterrey will be presented and some examples discussed with the purpose of creating a platform for collaboration with IIT.

Bonilla Ríos, has developed a successful career in academics and policy at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, an Institution with campuses throughout México and international presence in the United States and different Latin American countries. Currently, he is Dean of the School of Engineering and Information Technology at Campus Monterrey (ITESM). Dr. Bonilla Ríos has also served as Director of the Office of Alumni Relations and the Career Center.

During the time he was in charge of the Alumni Relations Office, Bonilla Ríos and his team established an important role in unifying and defining a shared vision and mission to the area, that resulted in the formulation of five main strategies that focus on the work done by each campus. His leadership represented a new era in relation to ITESM graduates who are currently grouped in 84 associations worldwide and participate in multiple projects with his Institution. Bonilla Ríos’ leadership has also contributed to improving the quality and employability of students and graduates of the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
