Armour College of Engineering Student Stephen Yonke Recipient of Two Distinguished Army ROTC Awards

Stephen_Yonke_ROTC_Award.jpgArmour College of Engineering and Wheaton College joint program student Stephen Yonke (AE 4th year) was recently selected to receive two distinguished awards for dedication to his ROTC training and academic prowess within the engineering curriculum.

Yonke was selected to receive the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) ROTC Award of Merit. This annual award is only bestowed upon twenty students nationwide. The awardees must be nominated by their battalion commander and selected by the Headquarters of Cadet Command. To qualify, a student must rank in the top 25% of their engineering class and the top 25% of their ROTC class.

He was also named the recipient of the Department of the Army Superior Cadet Award. This nationally recognized ROTC award is given to one cadet from each class who demonstrates outstanding officer potential and also ranks in the top 25% of their academic and military science classes.
