Armour College of Engineering student Leslie Lyons (CE 3rd year) is one of four students to be awarded the Verlon W. Braselton Memorial Foundation Scholarship. Founded in 1983 by the principals of Robinson Engineering, Ltd., the annual scholarship is awarded to college students in Illinois and Indiana that are seeking degrees in civil engineering.

The recipients were chosen by the Foundation’s Selection Committee which includes Village of South Holland Mayor Don A. De Graff; Village of Tinley Park Mayor Edward J. Zabrocki; Russ W. Prekwas, Chairman and CEO of Robinson Engineering; Christopher J. King, President of Robinson Engineering; and James M. Grisham, Scholarship Administrator of Robinson Engineering.

“We are pleased to fulfill and continue the mission of the foundation to support engineering education,” Prekwas said. “The award winners are ambitious, conscientious, dependable students with far-reaching goals in the industry. We will be following their progress and wish them much success.”

The scholarships were presented at an awards dinner at the Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields on July 23, 2014.
