Armour College of Engineering and WISER Lecture on Next-Gen Manufacturing Technologies

Armour College of Engineering’s Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (ChBE) and Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering (MMAE) is co-sponsoring a lecture with the Wagner Institute for Sustainable Energy Research (WISER) from 3:15-4:30 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Perlstein Hall Auditorium, Room 131.

The lecture presented by Eric Masanet, Ph.D. is entitled Prospective Life Cycle Systems Analysis of Next-Generation Manufacturing Technologies. During the lecture, Masanet will discuss new prospective systems modeling approaches that are being developed by the Energy and Resource Systems Analysis Laboratory at Northwestern University and its research partners. Case study results for prospective environmental assessment of lightweight automotive materials, metal organic frameworks for carbon capture, and additive manufacturing for improved aircraft components will be presented to illustrate the utility of the new methodological approaches.
