Athletics Weekly: April 4-10

NCAA Division III week is underway. Illinois Tech Athletics will celebrate the week with three home Women’s Lacrosse matches, a road meet for both Track and Field teams, and a Student Athletic Advisory Committee event. Here’s everything Scarlet Hawk fans need to know in advance of this week.

Women’s Lacrosse (5-3, 3-1 in MWLC play) has a busy week of home events planned. On Wednesday, April 6 at 7 p.m., the Scarlet Hawks will kick off the week’s athletic events with a home match against non-conference foe Elmhurst College. The team will also hold Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night in conjunction with the match.

The team will also play a pair of home matches over the weekend, with the first one coming on Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m. against MWLC opponent Cornell College. Saturday is also Family and Alumni Appreciation Day. Illinois Tech’s Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) will also hold a tailgate during the match in celebration of Divison III Week.

On Sunday, April 10 at 1 p.m. the Scarlet Hawks close out the week’s busy schedule by hosting Hamline University, a non-conference opponent. Sunday will also be the team’s Breast Cancer Awareness match. A shampoo drive will also be held in conjunction with Catholic Campus Ministry.

Men’s and Women’s Track and Field also competes this weekend. Both team will head to Galesburg, Ill. to compete in the Knox College Invite. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
