Attend a Career Crash Course—December 14

Screen Shot 2016-11-01 at 3.56.37 PM11Career Services is offering a “Career Crash Course” on Wednesday, December 14 from noon–6 p.m. (split into three sessions) in The McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC) Ballroom. This is a practical, hands-on, event where you will have the opportunity to practice a number of skills discussed in the workshop. An RSVP is requested.

The “Career Crash Course” designed to prepare graduates with the resources and tools needed to successfully conduct a job search. The target audience is December ‘16 graduates but the workshop is open to all interested students. We will be partnering with industry contacts to present job search strategies, and are asking young alumni to come talk about what it’s like after graduation.

Content: job search strategies, resume review, LinkedIn, methods for a two-hour job search (based on The 2-Hour Job Search by Steve Dalton), informational interviewing, interviewing skills, and immigration after OPT.

Detailed Schedule:

  • Noon–4 p.m.: Learn from industry professionals how to launch a successful job search
  • 4–5:30 p.m.: Hear from recent Illinois Tech Alumni what life is like after graduation
  • 5:30–6 p.m.: Network with industry professionals and alumni
