Blood Drive

Blood donors save lives. Be a lifesaver and sign up for the Illinois Tech Blood Drive on Wednesday, April 4 from noon–4 p.m. in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC) Ballroom. Donors will receive a free t-shirt.

Schedule your preferred donation time. Our collection goal is 27.

Did you know?

  • Blood donation is a simple, four-step process: registration, medical history and mini-physical, donation, and refreshments.
  • The actual blood donation typically takes less than 10-12 minutes. The entire process, from the time you arrive to the time you leave, takes about an hour.
  • Although an estimated 38% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate, less than 10% actually do so each year. This is why shortages occur.
  • Red blood cells (the most commonly transfused component) only last 42 days.
  • The average red blood cell transfusion is approximately three pints.
