The Math and Science Help (MASH) on campus is open and taking tutoring appointments in the Galvin Library. Math and Science Help (MASH) is part of the Academic Resource Center (ARC), and it provides support for undergraduate students through one-to-one peer tutoring and weekly group review sessions led by supplemental instructors for STEM courses.
MASH is designed to help students strengthen their technical understanding, improve problem-solving skills, and build effective study strategies that contribute to long-term academic success. Our services support students across disciplines, whether they’re reinforcing foundational concepts or preparing for exams.
Where are we located? MASH Help is located on the upper level of the Paul V. Galvin Library.
How can students book an appointment? Appointments can be made in advance online. MASH recommends that students schedule an appointment at least one hour in advance at the link above to ensure tutor availability and preparation. Drop-in services are also available.
What do tutors do? Our trained peer tutors support student learning by helping students:
- Clarify concepts from lectures and course readings
- Work through practice problems and examples
- Prepare for quizzes and exams
- Develop effective study habits and problem-solving strategies
Can students meet their tutors online? Yes! While MASH encourages in-person appointments for the most effective learning experience, virtual appointments are available. If you select an online appointment, the meeting link will be included in your confirmation email.
