IIT Architecture and Princeton Architectural Press will host an event on Saturday, April 18 from 3-5 p.m. at S. R. Crown Hall with a reception to follow.
The event is titled, “The College and University Campus: Documenting and Preserving and American Icon.”
Campus architecture holds the key to the cultural development of planning, landscape, urbanism, and communities across the nation. The roundtable convenes at Illinois Institute of Technology, one of the most notable prototypes for holistic campus planning, to explore the value and methodologies of maintaining documentation and histories of campus architecture as a unique typology that has developed over the last several centuries. The discussion will be followed with a brief tour of landmark IIT buildings, led by IIT faculty Michelangelo Sabatino and John Ronan.
