Save the Date for Welcome Week and Convocation 2024
July 25, 2024Please save the date for Illinois Tech’s 2024 Welcome Week festivities, August 12–16. All new first-year students will move into their residence halls on Monday, August 12. Welcome Week is designed for the Illinois Tech community to enjoy a week of fun activities culminating with Convocation and the Student Organization Involvement Fair on Friday, August 16. It is a great time to meet our new students and get them acclimated onto campus, and YOU are invited to participate! -
Canvas Workshop: Grading and Feedback on August 16
July 18, 2024This workshop will cover the Canvas gradebook from both instructor and student views, highlighting Speed grader's efficiency and feedback capabilities. Participants will also learn to create and use rubrics for assignment assessment. -

July 18, 2024This workshop will highlight the analytics features available to teachers. Participants will learn how to use the reporting features to monitor student progress, interaction with the course content, and track mastery on key standards or skills. -

We'll practice adding text, links, images, media, and documents through pages and announcements, while sharing best practices for formatting, accessibility, and content creation. -

July 18, 2024In this workshop, you will learn to craft quiz questions and adjust settings, exploring a range of assessment question types. You will also discover effective strategies for using feedback, item banks, and quiz settings to enhance quiz effectiveness. This workshop will be led by a Canvas Facilitator. -
Academic Unit Gatherings and Receptions for Welcome Week
July 11, 2024Welcome Week is August 12–18. To accommodate any academic unit that would like to host a reception or introductory session for their areas during Welcome Week the best dates and times are 4–6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, or Wednesday, Aug. 14. These dates and times ensure that students will not have a conflict with other events during Welcome Week. -

New Online Training Sessions Offered for All Faculty
July 11, 2024All faculty are invited to attend one of 13 online training sessions that will take place during new faculty orientation on August 12–14, 2024. While the Office of the Provost is providing these sessions for new faculty during their orientation, all faculty members are invited to take part in the fully remote sessions. -

You may wish to take a moment to review your current 403(b) contribution percentage and submit a new Salary Reduction Agreement Form to take advantage of the university match, if you are not already doing so. -
Summer Friday Flextime Program Guidelines
May 21, 2024As the summer season approaches, we are pleased to announce the reinstatement of our summer flextime program, effective from the first week of June through the last week of August. Eligible employees are permitted to leave work three (3) hours in advance of their scheduled end of shift for six (6) Fridays, subject to the approval of the employee’s supervisor. Please see the program guidelines linked above for additional information regarding eligibility and scheduling.
