The Voice Services team of the Office of Technology Services (OTS) has been examining how we can improve our community’s voicemail experience.
Currently your voicemail messages are delivered to both your office phone’s voicemail box and your email. While that has its advantages, the drawback is that you must delete the message in both places.
To improve your experience and resolve the frequent “full-voicemail” message that callers, including our students, receive, on January 27, 2023, OTS will transition the community to receiving voicemail messages via email ONLY. This means that voicemail will no longer be delivered to your voicemail box, unless you specifically take action and request that service to continue by submitting a ticket to the OTS Support Desk/ITS Help Desk. (See information below.)
OTS asks that you take the time to listen to and delete your voicemails before January 27, 2023. Once the transition occurs, you will not be able to listen to those old voicemail messages any longer, unless you submit a Support Desk ticket, which will trigger extra work.
To listen to and/or delete your messages, please take the following steps:
- Dial 312-808-6423
- Enter your extension (5 digits) and press the pound key (#)
- Enter your voicemail passcode (6 digits) and press the pound key (#)
- Press 1 to listen to your voicemail messages
- Press 7 to delete the message
Note: Currently the voicemail box and email are not synchronized, so deleting the email message containing the voicemail will not delete the voicemail from your voicemail box.
If you wish to set up your voicemail for the first time, please go to Clearspan Voicemail Quick Reference.pdf (iit.edu) for instructions on first-time voicemail set-up.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact the OTS Support Desk at supportdesk@iit.edu or 312-567-3375 (on campus x7Desk). If you are at the Conviser Law Center, please contact the ITS Help Desk at helpdesk@kentlaw.iit.edu or 312-906-5300 (on campus x65300).
