Cheer on the IIT Marathon Runners this Sunday! Free T-Shirts for Volunteers

2011 Chicago Marathon

The 2012 Chicago Marathon is quickly approaching, and once again the IIT community is encouraged to cheer on the runners as they come through campus.  The marathon, to be held on Sunday, October 7, sees runners arrive at the IIT campus from the west over the 33rd Street bridge, then head south along State Street as they hit mile 23 of the race, head east on 35th and then turn north on Michigan Avenue for the final leg.

Help cheer them on as musicians from VanderCook College of Music perform, and enjoy a free breakfast and marathon T-shirts (supplies limited; first-come, first-served).  A banner featuring the names of student, faculty, staff, and alumni runners will be on display along the marathon route through Main Campus.

The lead runners start arriving at the campus around 9:30 – 9:45 am.  Please help us prepare and let us know here if you plan to volunteer.  Don’t forget to wear your IIT gear!
