Join Paul V. Galvin Library for a Chi Women in Stem Wikipedia-Edit-a-Thon on Tuesday, March 27 from 3:30–5:30 p.m. on the northeast upper level of Paul V. Galvin Library. Women, especially in STEM fields, are notoriously underrepresented on Wikipedia, the most used information website. Wikipedia-edit-a-thons are events where people come together to improve Wikipedia entries. Join us in celebration of Women’s History Month as we work to improve entries for Chicago-area women notable for their work in STEM fields.

You do not need to have experience editing Wikipedia to join the event and it is open to all genders and identities. Galvin librarians have curated resources you can use to improve articles by adding information and citations. Drop by for part of the event, or hang around for the whole two hours. We will have people on hand to help you get started. Participants are encouraged to sign up for a Wikipedia account before the event. This is not required but is recommended. Be sure to bring a device, such as a laptop, to edit articles. You may also check out a laptop from the Galvin Circulation Desk.
