Chicago Council on Science and Technology Presents Body and Machine – Epidermal Electronics

Chicago Council on Science and Technology, a partner institution of IIT, is sponsoring “Body and Machine – Epidermal Electronics” featuring professor and materials scientist John Rogers at 6 pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Northwestern University Chicago Campus in the Baldwin Auditorium located at 303 E. Superior Street.

Rogers is a pioneer in the area of stretchy ultra-thin mesh electronics and biometric sensors that can be printed directly on the skin. A 2009 MacArthur Foundation Genius Grant recipient who teaches materials science and engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, Rogers is bringing his inventions to the public. In addition to his tattoo-like diagnostics, Rogers’ company MC10 recently partnered with Reebok to produce the Checklight, a head impact indicator that can be worn by athletes under helmets to capture head impact data milliseconds after hits. He has also worked with the military on solar-rechargeable uniforms.

The cost for students to attend is $5, including the networking reception which is at 5 pm prior to the event. Register today. This program will also be live streamed.
