The Chicago Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) project to repave State Street between 31st and 35th Streets is underway. While crosswalk area signs are still in place, many of the crosswalk lines have been temporarily removed from the street, which may result in drivers being less aware of crosswalk locations. While some crosswalk lines have been repainted with temporary paint, new asphalt may soon cover those lines again, making designated crosswalk areas difficult to recognize.
Pedestrians: please be aware of the change in conditions while this work continues in an effort to improve the look and feel of the street. Exercise caution when crossing the street for the duration of this project.
