According to Marshall Brown, “the automobile has played a great cultural role in America especially with this idea of the Great American Road Trip you see in films from Smokey and the Bandit to National Lampoon’s Vacation. The car has a great role in that mythology. I think it’s important not only from the standpoint of the technology but also culturally and economically.”
