Four people with ties to the College of Science will speak at the 6th annual TEDxIIT conference on Sunday, April 10,from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. in the IIT Tower Auditorium. The theme of this year’s event is “UnexpecTED” and will spotlight students, faculty, alumni, and Chicago technology leaders who have had an unexpected idea that improved the lives of many people and resulted in significant positive change.
Mustafa Bilgic, assistant professor of computer science, will speak about artificial intelligence algorithms. He will discuss how equipping these algorithms with richer interaction capabilities and enabling them to explain their reasoning have significant potential in making them more useful and friendly.
John Katsoudas, research scientist at Illinois Tech and CEO and cofounder of Influit Energy, will present his research on high energy density nanofluid flow batteries and the solutions a liquid energy format offers.
Other College of Science affiliated speakers include Chris Gladwin, founder of Cleversafe, and Ioan Raicu, assistant professor of computer science.
