Communications Lab (Formerly the Writing Center) Is Now Open!

Illinois Tech Communications Lab (formerly the Writing Center) is now open and accepting appointments!

Communications Lab is part of the Academic Resource Center (ARC), and it offers free help with all written, oral, and visual communication assignments as well as personal statements, application essays, speeches, and more.

Peer tutors are ready to assist you during any stage of the writing and presentation preparation process, from brainstorming and outlining to final touches and delivery practice. They can help you understand assignment instructions, how to structure your response, improve the clarity of ideas, strategize for revision, evaluate arguments, and present with confidence and clarity.

The Communications Lab is located on the upper level of Galvin Library, around the corner from OTS. Appointments are available five days a week. While virtual appointments are available, we encourage students to meet in person for a more effective learning experience.

Students can make appointments using our scheduling portal (account registration required). Walk-in appointments are welcome, pending tutor availability. More tutors and appointments will be added this week.
