ITM Students Submit Winning Papers To 15th Annual SIGITE/RIIT 2014 Conference

Students in IIT’s Information Technology and Management and Cyber Forensics and Security programs recently submitted their student projects to ACM-SIGITE/RIIT 2014, the 15th Annual Conference on Information Technology Education and the third Annual Conference on Research in Information Technology hosted by ACM-SIGITE, the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group for IT Education. The theme of both conferences is “Riding the Wave of Change in Information Technology.” ACM is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society. It delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession.

Out of 42 papers accepted by this year’s conference, three IIT papers were accepted: “Probabilistically Detecting Steganography within MP3 Files” written by Ben Khodja, “Passive Warden Using Statistical Steganalysis” written by David Stacey, and “Printer Watermark Obfuscation” written by Maya Embar, Bill Wesselman and Louis McHugh. The student authors will travel to the conference in Atlanta October 15-18, 2014 to present their papers.

In addition, two other papers were submitted, “Remotely-Accessible Dynamic Infrastructure for Students to Hack (RADISH)” by Industry Professor of Information Technology and Management Bill Lidinsky, Dawid Broda, Ben Khodja and “Embedded Device Security” by Fernando Martinez.

“Our students all did really outstanding work, some of it seminal in nature,” Lidinsky said. “All the papers were excellent. The students should all be proud of their work.”
