CPS Regional Science Fair Judges Needed January 27

There is an urgent need for judges for the Chicago Public Schools Southwest Side and Midway Regional Science Fair to be held from 8 am – noon on Friday, January 27 at Daley City College at 7500 S. Pulaski Road.

Student projects from ten high schools and 23 elementary schools will be exhibited at this fair and the top projects will go on to the Citywide Science Fair to be held at the Museum of Science and Industry, March 22-25.

Last year, more than 300 student projects were presented at the Citywide Fair, and the Regional Fairs are key to insuring that the best projects go on to the Citywide Fair to compete for slots at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair and Illinois State Fairs.

IIT students, faculty, and staff with backgrounds in math, science, or engineering are invited to participate as judges. No previous judging experience is required—the judging criteria and forms will be provided.

Contact RyAnn Nelson-Jaiyesimi at Lindblom Math and Science Academy High School as soon as possible at rsnelson@cps.edu if you are able to volunteer for this important effort.
