Electronic Waste Collection Days at IIT

IIT will host three electronic waste collection days in March. IIT students, faculty, staff, and the general public are encouraged to bring unwanted electronic devices on Wednesday March 14, Thursday March 15 and Saturday March 31 to be recycled in an environmentally responsible manner.  Certified e-waste recycler Universal Recycling Technologies, Inc will ensure that all data is removed from any hard drives and that all electronics are recycled locally in an environmentally responsible fashion.

Electronic devices including laptops/computers/tablets, televisions, cellphones/smart phones, printers, monitors, portable digital music players, video disc players/recorders, video game consoles, scanners, electronic mice, digital converter boxes, facsimile machines and keyboards can be recycled.

It is the responsibility of the parties dropping off electronics to ensure that they have removed and wiped clean all personal information from the devices. IIT will not be undertaking such efforts and assumes no liability for the disclosure of any personal information left on devices that are dropped off.
