English Language Services welcomed its first cohort of 10 students for the Intensive English Program (IEP) on May 22. The students—representing China, Korea, Japan, and Turkey—will be studying English full-time this summer. The semester kicked off with an orientation, which was an exciting day filled with getting-to-know-you exercises, a tour of the campus, and a preview of all the benefits of the IEP and Illinois Tech. Many of these students will be moving on to undergraduate and graduate programs in the fall. The IEP is a promising opportunity for the university to increase enrollment and further diversify its student population.
