Engineers Without Borders-USA will begin their national donation campaign — the Year End Campaign — to help raise funds for the implementation of their projects which includes support work done by its student chapters including the EWB-IIT from Monday, December 2, 2013-Tuesday, January 14,2014. Engineers Without Borders is a non-profit organization that supports community-driven development programs worldwide through empowering partnerships that design and implement sustainable solutions to help meet a community’s basic human needs. Today, more than two billion people lack access to the most basic things such as clean drinking water, adequate sanitation, and reliable passage to local markets.
Since November 2012, the IIT student chapter has been working on a bridge project for the community of San Claudio, Nicaragua. This bridge will be able to provide access to schools, hospitals and medical facilities, churches, and marketplaces in San Claudio.
Funds raised during the Year End campaign will be matched by EWB-USA until funds are depleted. Donations between $5 and $5,000 can be accepted. Any donation will help EWB-IIT and support building the San Claudio bridge. To donate, view.
