Co-authors of “101 Things I Learned in Product Design School” discuss the principles of design and the design school experience with students.

Design educators Martin Thaler and Sung Jang, co-authors of “101 Things I Learned in Product Design School” (Crown, October 2020), discuss the principles of design, why they’re important, and the design school experience with current and former students in a Zoom conversation on Tuesday, November 10, at 7 p.m.

Thaler, studio professor at ID, and Jang, chair of industrial design at UIC, will tackle the ever-present questions of who and what design is for—as well as why we design—with students in undergraduate (UIC) and graduate (ID) design programs. Panelists will reveal pivotal moments in their design education, the surprising things they have learned in their design programs, and how these lessons apply outside the design world. Join us for an opportunity to get a snapshot of design education from both students and teachers.
