Extended Memorial Day Weekend

Dear Faculty and Staff,

This Saturday, it was my distinct pleasure to confer degrees upon this year’s graduating class at our 151st Commencement Ceremony. As a part of our virtual Commencement, graduating studentsfaculty and staff , our Board of Trustees chairman, our Alumni Association chair, and Faculty Council chair shared videos expressing their congratulations to our graduates. The live-stream also included a video thanking our essential staff for their hard work throughout the pandemic.

Each of you has contributed to our success during this challenging time. As a small token of our gratitude, I am giving everyone the opportunity to take Friday, May 22, off to extend the Memorial Day holiday weekend. For those who can’t take a day off because of essential services or work responding to the coronavirus, you are welcome to work with your direct supervisors to schedule a day off at a later time; provided, however, the scheduled day off must be agreed to between the employee and his or her supervisors and must be taken on or before June 30, 2020 or it will be forfeited.

Thank you again for all that you have done to help make this semester a success in the face of these challenges. I appreciate you and everything you do to help us meet our academic mission.

Sincerely,

Alan W. Cramb
