Faculty and Staff: Attend the Inauguration of Alan W. Cramb as President

inauguration_fbWe look forward to seeing you on Friday, September 18, 2015 for the Inauguration of Alan W. Cramb as the ninth president of Illinois Institute of Technology. The ceremony will begin promptly at 3 p.m., and seating inside Hermann Hall will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We are expecting a capacity crowd, so we recommend you arrive early. The auditorium doors will be closed at 2:55 p.m., and late arrivals will not be allowed to enter until after the processional and color guard presentation.

Prior to the ceremony, you are invited to watch the campus-wide faculty processional beginning at 2:25 p.m. as you head to Hermann Hall. The processional will begin with two separate groups at the north and south ends of campus and converge at 33rd Street and Footlik Lane (west of State Street).

Following the ceremony, the celebration will continue in Hermann Hall with a reception and IIT Global Spirit Day, which will feature prizes, giveaways, a prize wheel, photo booth, student organization displays, and much more! Please note: If you’ve already registered for the post-Inauguration reception and IIT Global Spirit Day, you’ll receive a separate email with event details. 

Special instructions:

Faculty

  • Faculty participating in the college processionals should report to their college receptions at 1 p.m. to pick up rental regalia and line up for the campus processional. Recommended attire for those processing in regalia is dark pants or skirts and dark shoes.
  • For faculty members not processing in regalia, please wear red or see t-shirt pickup instructions in the staff section of this email.
  • Shuttle service will be provided.

Staff

  • Wear red on Inauguration day! Complimentary IIT Global Spirit Day t-shirts will be provided for all staff to wear. Pick up your t-shirts:
  • Wednesday, September 16: 12-3 p.m., Institutional Advancement, IIT Tower 17th floor (Sign a congratulatory banner for President Cramb!)
  • Thursday, September 17: 12-5 p.m., Institutional Advancement, IIT Tower 17th floor (Sign a congratulatory banner for President Cramb!)
  • Friday, September 18: 2-3 p.m. outside the Hermann Hall Auditorium
  • One t-shirt per person, staff ID must be shown.
  • Shuttle service will be provided.
