The Interprofessional Projects (IPRO) Program organizes interdisciplinary teams of undergraduate students to apply their creativity to complex, open-ended projects that tackle the challenges of our times. Guided by faculty members from diverse fields, IPRO teams span new venture development, urban systems and manufacturing revitalization, renewable energy and sustainability, urban agriculture, sports science and technology, STEM education and community engagement. Spring IPRO sponsors and community partners include thyssenkrupp N.A., Motorola Solutions Foundation, Sargent & Lundy LLC, Bronzeville Urban Development, EarthGrid, Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago, MacArthur Foundation, Chicago Public Library, Academy for Global Citizenship, and Kohl Children’s Museum.
The IPRO Day event is the culmination of IPRO team work through interactive exhibits. At the spring 2017 IPRO Day Showcase on Friday, April 21 from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. in Hermann Hall, upwards of 40 teams selected from over 100 this spring will showcase their accomplishments.
Illinois Tech faculty, staff, alumni, and professionals from the Chicago area are invited to serve as judges and welcome to attend as guests.
