This spring Recreational Sports and Fitness will be offering staff- and faculty-only yoga sessions in the IIT Tower Fitness Center.
Mondays at noon Dianna will lead Hatha Flow yoga, beginner and advanced. During practice, several variations or options are presented to allow each student to feel challenged, physically and mentally. Although parts of this class may be rigorous, you will be supported in finding a posture/movement that leads you to discovery of your own personal edge. Expect a mix of rigor and gentler flows.
Wednesdays at noon Dianna will lead Gentle Yoga Flow. Supported postures, simple movement, and conscious relaxation; you will experience passive stretches, supported postures, and slow, controlled movement with strengthening. Emphasis is placed on de-stressing the body and mind to help the student find a deep calm. This class is appropriate for all levels including those who seek a mid-week pick-me-up, stress-relief, a gentle class, or are in physical rehabilitation.
The cost is $5 per session and punch cards can be purchased at the Keating Sports Center Front Desk during regular Keating hours with a credit or debit card. Click here to see all purchase options.
After you purchase your punch card, the instructor will punch your card at each session you attend.
Sessions will begin on Monday, January 23, and will run through the end of the spring semester and possibly through the summer based upon popularity.
Also, feel free to attend all of our regular group fitness classes (open to all students, staff, and faculty) at Keating at no charge.
