Faculty Marshals Needed for Commencement 2026

As Commencement approaches, we look forward to honoring the dedication, achievements, and perseverance of our students. This milestone represents years of hard work for our graduates and their families, and faculty participation plays a meaningful role in making the day memorable.

This year, faculty members are invited to serve as faculty marshals during their respective college ceremonies. Faculty marshals will help welcome graduates, guide them to their seats, and direct them to the stage for degree conferral. To highlight the strong connection between faculty and students, marshals will be seated among the graduates unless they have a speaking role, in which case they will be seated on stage.

Faculty who wish to serve as faculty marshals are encouraged to submit the RSVP form by Tuesday, March 31, 2026, to confirm participation and request regalia, if needed. Additional details on roles, attire, and arrival logistics will be shared closer to the event. (Please note: This form is only for faculty. A form for staff volunteers will be released later.)

Commencement will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Credit Union 1 Arena, 525 South Racine Avenue in Chicago. More information is available on the Commencement website.
